Our staff will pick you up from Cusco airport to take you to your hotel. (Remember to send your flight details and enjoy this all- inclusive package to Machu Picchu/ Cusco).
At 1:30p.m we begin the Cusco city tour. We start with a guided tour of the majestic Inca fortress: Sacsayhuaman.
Then, we take a bus to Qenqo where you can see some altars from the Inca times. Next, we drive to Puka Pukara, a small circular Inca site. We finish in Tambomachay, the temple of water. We return to the main square of Cusco at the end of the day.
The walk to Rainbow Mountain: The adventure begins very early, around 04:30 am. We pick you up at your hotel and drive for 2 ½ hours to the picturesque town of Cusipata, south of Cusco, where we can buy some snacks, mineral water, cereal, etc…
Next, we walk through beautiful landscapes of multicolored crops that mix between the Andean mountain range and snow-capped mountains. We might even be able to see Andean animals such as the llama, alpaca, sheep and vicunas. At the starting point of our walk we will enjoy a delicious Andean breakfast with the local people. After our meal we continue our hike for 1 ½ hours up the mountain. Once we reach the top, we begin our descend to the checkpoint along the slopes of the Vinicunca hill.
The colors of the landscape will begin to intensify and we’ll be surrounded by small streams of icy water that nourish and give life to this valley. As we walk, the weather will start to change along with the vivid colors. The summit of the mysterious Rainbow mountain (Vinikunka) is 5033 meters above sea level.
There will be plenty of time to take photos, videos and enjoy some snacks in this impressive panoramic view. Then, we walk back to the starting point of the trek and have some lunch in a small town. We return to Cusco at approximately 15:30 hours.
We take the shortest route to Cusipata.
Pick up from your hotel in Cusco to go to Ollantaytambo Station to board the train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town).
From there we take a bus for 30 minutes to the citadel of Machu Picchu.
Our guide will be waiting at the entrance to start a 2 hour guided tour.
This excursion to the most important archaeological site in South America (Machu Picchu), offers a visit to the main spots such as: the Inti Huatana, Temple of the Sun, Temple of the Three Windows, Temple of the Condor, among others. Afterwards you can enjoy lunch in the town of Aguas Calientes. (There are a lot of different restaurant options in Machu Picchu town varying in price, quality, type of food, etc…)
At an established time we board the train to Ollantaytambo and our vehicle will drop us back into Cusco’ historic city center.
